Mamakating Democrats faced total defeat Tuesday night, when their incumbent town supervisor Bob Fiore lost his re-election bid to Bloomingburg fire commissioner Harold Baird.
Also swept into office were council candidates Regina Saunders and John Moul.
Saunders, a former town councilperson who lost two years ago to Teddy Brebbia, narrowly beat Ron Weathers this time around.

The results of the three-way mayoral race in Wurtsboro village are in. Incumbent Michelena “Micky” Maher was re-elected by a wide margin. According to the Times Herald-Record, Micky got 203 votes, compared to Paul Champagne’s 28, and Bob Whitehead’s 24.
Barbara Piper beat out Robert H. Hawkes for village trustee, by 211 votes to 34.

Assemblywoman Aileen M. Gunther, of New York’s 98th A.D., is running unopposed this November.
Sullivan County had no primary challenges scheduled for Tues., Sept. 9,
2008. Therefore, there are no primary results to report.
The general election will be held on Tues., Nov. 4, 2008, from 6am to 9pm.
